Paving the Way to Leadership: Elif Buyuker's Experience with RHG's Accelerate Program

Elif Buyuker’s journey with Accelerate is a shining example of the profound impact well-structured development initiatives can have in shaping career trajectories and facilitating upward mobility within our ranks. Elif had long aspired to become a General Manager, but initially faced challenges in finding the right development opportunity that could help take her to the next level. However, the introduction of the Accelerate Program breathed new life into her aspirations, paving the way for a new chapter of success in her career.

A development program that makes a difference

Central to Elif's transformative journey were the invaluable skills and competencies she acquired as an Accelerate Program participant. The program comes with an ambitious curriculum that strikes a balance between virtual workshops, hands-on training, and mentorship opportunities alongside established leaders in the RHG family. Elif’s experience gave her a profound sense of self-recognition and trust, which has foundational to her success as a leader. Empowered by the support of RHG managers and the camaraderie underpinning the program, Elif soon found herself emboldened to overcome challenges and turn her GM aspirations into a reality. In January 2024, Elif became GM of Park Inn by Radisson, Ataşehir (Turkey), where she takes great pride in leading a team that aims to deliver memorable moments for everyone who steps foot in the hotel.
 
“My participation in the Accelerate Program not only helped me develop my leadership skills by providing a combination of great learnings, feedback and networking, it also gave me a sense of self-awareness that I have been using to the benefit of my team and our customers. I now have better insights into my strengths, weaknesses and leadership style, which allow me to be an effective manager and a leader with something new to learn every day.”
