Amadeus and Radisson Hotel Group make seamless travel and contactless check-in a reality for the hospitality industry

Brussels - 19 July 2021

Radisson Hotel Group, one of the leading hotel groups in the world, will collaborate with Amadeus to integrate its Traveler ID platform into Radisson’s seamless check-in web portal, facilitating a contactless experience

This is Traveler ID’s first partnership in the hospitality industry, and represents a new milestone in Amadeus’s objective to promote integration across the whole traveler journey

In response to increased demand for touchless technologies and frictionless experiences by travelers, Amadeus and Radisson Hotel Group are partnering to enable contactless check-in across hotels in the Group's global hotel network. The goal of Radisson is to accommodate the Traveler ID solution into its new seamless digital check-in/out experience.

Thanks to the integration of Amadeus’ Traveler ID, a platform that digitally verifies travel documents and health checks, into Radisson Hotel Group’s check-in channels, hotel guests will enjoy a self-check-in service, which is available even before they arrive at the hotel. In addition, Radisson guests will be able to reuse their profiles with other travel verification checkpoints within the Traveler ID network, such as airlines or airports, eliminating the hassle of managing various accounts and providing information on many different apps or portals.

Traveler ID is a vendor-agnostic platform that can connect multiple digital ID and health platform providers, always based on the traveler’s consent. Traveler ID is a solution for airlines, hotels, airports, and other travel providers, allowing travelers to digitally identify themselves at different verification checkpoints and at the same time confirm their health documentation throughout their journey. Privacy and security have been central to the design of Traveler ID, enabling partners to address essential data protection and evolving market requirements.

For Radisson Hotel Group and the hospitality industry, this is a simple way to cater to the expectations of guests who are increasingly focused on cleanliness, health and safety, which Amadeus dubbed ‘Generation Clean’. Enabling a touchless check-in process and reducing queues will be strong assets to drive the recovery journey and increase guests’ trust in travel.

"This partnership fits in well with Radisson’s philosophy to keep on innovating and optimizing the guest experience in this new and challenging environment created by the global COVID-19 pandemic," said Gonzalo Carpintero, VP Operations EMEA & MICE, Radisson Hotel Group. "We have put ourselves in the shoes of the traveler – and can now significantly improve their comfort by allowing them to avoid queues and crowds. Within our new digital check-in/out solution, guests will be able to enjoy a seamless and touchless travel experience which includes the online check-in/out, as well as self-check-in/out kiosks placed in the hotel lobby and the management of their guest ID and digital keys directly from the Radisson Hotel Group application. This integrated arrival flow will also free up our staff to focus on meaningful, personalized interactions to help provide our signature ‘Yes I Can’ service, as this is what hospitality is all about."

"Radisson Hotel Group is our first partner in the hospitality industry that will be using the full Traveler ID suite, from identity creation to document verification, including health requirements, to be integrated within its check-in channels. By easing the traveler journey at every step of the trip whether it is at the airport or at the hotel, we are answering an urgent need of the travel industry to break down barriers in the travel value chain and enable a frictionless traveler experience. Partnerships like this will go a long way in helping the industry in rebuilding travel," added Francois Blanc, Traveler ID Managing Director, Amadeus.

Through its Safe Travel Ecosystem, Amadeus is prioritizing the development of technology to improve the overall safety of travelers, increasing their confidence and allowing the industry to rebuild travel. This announcement follows on the heels of a partnership with Star Alliance to speed up the boarding process for airlines, and the integration of health check capabilities in Traveler ID

Radisson Hotel Group’s top priority is the continued health, safety and security of its guests, team members, and business partners. The Group applies its Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol created in collaboration with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, and recently unveiled its new comprehensive testing program as the first hotel group to roll out a rapid testing service for meeting and event attendees at properties across its EMEA portfolio.
