Just had my annual global team meeting here, this year being in Budapest. The Park Plaza Budapest was out landing spot, where we had a team of about 50 people stay for a few days, plus we held 2 days of business meetings in their meeting facilities, with break and lunch services organized within. Everything went to plan, and the local hotel team was even able to accommodate some last-minute requests to use their hotel bar for pre-dinner drinks. That may sound like not a big deal, but when unexpected crowds of 30-40 people flood the bar at one time for drinks, it is a bit difficult to manage. The staff kindly obliged and the service exceeded expectations. Lunches were excellent and varied on each day, and the break snacks were mixed and delicious. The hotel meeting facilities are fit for purpose; the teams will accommodate to setup needs as required. From a hotel perspective, the gym is good and bonus to have sauna/steam room access in the evenings. Lastly, they have a star with their event planner Linda Farago. I don't know how she did it, but she was on top of everything (ensuring meeting room/facility access, having breaks and lunches proceed well, etc.). She made sure that any last-minute changes were accommodated and that her team had all topics in hand. I was rather stressed about this event without my own on location event planning staff that I usually have as a 3rd party, but I didn't need it this time with her help. A massive thank you from me (and my team) to her and her event team at the Park Plaza Budapest.
I cannot say enough good things about our 10 day stay at the Park Plaza Budapest! The location and view were stellar! The check in process was easy and efficient. The restaurant in the hotel is fabulous! We were treated like family every time we went there (which was daily!) The food was fantastic and the service is top notch!! Ask for Florida, she's a doll! But everyone was attentive and kind (and spoke beautiful English.) The breakfast buffet was truly a beautiful spread and you could find something new each day. There was a wide assortment of coffees and juices as well. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were thankful to have a small refrigerator so we could keep leftovers and drinks cold. The beds and pillows were so comfortable! Our room had a breathtaking view of the Parliament!!! We also loved that you could open the windows for fresh air. All of the staff were helpful and knowledgeable! The bellman, Roland, was super helpful too! He greeted us each day with a smile and a hello. We were traveling with our 89 year old father and were able to go to amazing restaurants just steps from the property. A traditional Hungarian restaurant was on the corner and an Eastern European restaurant and gastropub on the back of the block--all were phenomenal! There are pubs, a small mini mart and a church within steps of the hotel. And the Buda Castle was less than a 10 minute walk away. If you are going to Budapest, I highly suggest you stay at this amazing hotel and visit Viktor, the assistant manager. He truly has his finger on the pulse of the city and knows where all the great sites, restaurants and tours are. This hotel is a GEM!!! We will definitely be back!
Hotel is in a great location on the Buda side. Nice reception area, and our check in was seamless and welcoming. We enjoyed drinks in the bar which has a nice ambience and very friendly staff. We had a castle facing room which was spacious and well equipped with pretty much everything you could need, safe, kettle, iron etc.and an extremely comfortable bed. The view was stunning, enjoyed all the more through windows that you can open fully and soak in the tranquil and serene location, and hear birds singing and bells chiming. Would highly recommend - we felt it was great value for money. (Someone else commented on the carpet… which was a little strange… but not too great a distraction) . Thanks Park Plaza for a lovely stay.
Prior to arriving at the Hotel I messaged to let them know we were celebrating my Husbands 60th Birthday. When we checked in we had been upgraded and were given celebratory fizz and a rather lovely piece of cake each. The suite was in a very private area of the Hotel, it had views up to the Fisherman's Bastion. Even though the Hotel is on a main road, with the double windows it was rather peaceful. The room was excellent, the bed comfortable and all facilities were top notch. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The Hotel was situated in easy reach of all transport. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Thank you so much to Park Plaza for a very memorable stay.
