This hotel is ideally situated if what you want is a seaside break. The view of the marina from our sea view room is captivating as is the sight of the medieval Elizabeth Castle. The massive rise and fall of the tide revealing acres of sand and rocks is a natural delight. The chance to walk across a causeway with the high tide mark way above your head, etc, etc. Our room was better than comfortable, and the public areas welcoming. The staff were unfailingly cheerful, some with a good line in humorous responses, and especially Herbert who looked after us in the dining room. And it's clean and I enjoyed the food, and so on and so on. Jersey is lovely. And the neolithic structure at La Houge Bie is one of the ten oldest buildings in the world.
This was an excellent hotel - it is fairly new and the general upkeep of the hotel reflects this. Its position next to the marina affords it some great views across St Aubion's bay - we were very glad we had opted for the Premium room that gave us 2 double windows to enjoy the view. We did consider upgrading to the panoramic suites, with floor to ceiling views but decided an additional £200 per night was an exhorbitant ask! The facilities were all good and the staff were friendly and helpful. One crticism is that, I felt, the menu offerings in the Waterfront Restaurant were a bit too generic and there could have been better/wider choices.
We stayed for 5 nights over the late May bank holiday. We were really pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Our room was a really good size for 3 of us, a really comfy bed and a cot provided for our son. We paid to upgrade our room to a sea view and the view was an absolute treat. All of the staff we spoke to were warm and helpful. The breakfast was great with a wide range of food for a buffet and there was always somewhere to sit during busy times. Plenty of parking at all times as well. We’ve been to Jersey a few times and wouldn’t hesitate to book a stay here again the next time we visit.
This was our first visit to this Hotel & we are so glad we chose this one. All the staff are happy, efficient, friendly and they all look smart in their uniform. The whole Hotel is very clean & tidy. The breakfast choice is vast, maybe a little variation occasionally would be nice. Excellent position right on the seafront. All drinks & food were excellent. Spacious room with huge bed & nice bathroom, yes there are a few scuffs & scratches around but that is to be expected at a busy Hotel. Our room did have a continuous humming noise from the boiler/generator next door which was a bit annoying initially but we soon got used to it. The indoor pool, sauna & steam room are a great extra. Overall, this a a lovely Hotel, very spacious & clean throughout with superb staff, especially Claudine on reception what a gem of a staff member, thank you very much for looking after us throughout our stay. We will definitely return.
While the building/hardware is not the newest, the warmth and enthusiasm of the staff really shine. Good proximity to the CBD and shops and waterfront views too.
